Feeding as a special snack for Koi Carp

The treats should only be given to Koi when the water temperature is 16°C or higher.

Due to their high protein content, silkworms are not suitable as a complete food; they should be given as a snack in addition to regular food.

As a rough guideline for feeding silkworms: one silkworm per 10cm of Koi (with optimal water values and temperatures of approx. 24°C, the amount can be doubled).

Proper storage of silkworms

Silkworm pupae should always be stored in a cool, dry place.

(If stored incorrectly, the fats will become rancid and can cause severe health problems in Koi!)

Shelf life of silkworms

approx. 12 months when stored correctly.

Larger opened packages should be frozen or, if possible, vacuum-sealed again.

Please note:

Always ensure fresh silkworm pupae. Soak silkworm pupae in lukewarm water for approx. 1 hour. Silkworm pupae are treats for Koi and not a complete food.
